Whether you contract to provide infusion nursing visits, or have your own staff of infusion nurses, there are significant challenges to managing the nursing component of the care you deliver. Faculty Bio
Melissa Leone accepted the position of National Director, Nursing in January 2006, after 15 years at Apria Healthcare in a variety of other roles. Throughout her 16 year tenure at Apria, Ms. Leonehas functioned in a succession of clinical and operational management roles, culminating in this current position. She brings stability to the Infusion organization through her historical knowledge of Apria Infusion operations and ability to provide detailed clinical and marketing support to the program.
Ms. Leone started her career with Apria Healthcare in 1990 after 5 years at Yale-New Haven Hospital in New Haven, CT, primarily working in the Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit. She also functioned in a Clinical Advisor capacity and managed the Medical and Surgical patient flow process for this 1,000 bed facility on an as-needed basis. Her extensive experience in acute care and clinical supervision prepared her well for entry into the Home Infusion arena.
She earned her BS in Nursing from Southern Connecticut State University in Connecticut.
